Have you considered how the economic landscape of the region may change over the next five to ten years? How should the region grow new jobs and be a magnet for new industry?

More than a year ago, The Atlantic Cape May Workforce Investment Board (WIB), community business partners and educational institutions met to begin a dialogue on how the region could support and advance existing industry and build new industry. The status or precondition of economic growth for the region; more specifically the existing and needed infrastructures became the springboard for the planning.

The WIB has the responsibility to look at job creation and provide an adequate and trained workforce for local employers and to attract new business to the region. With the recent workforce reductions in the hospitality and tourism industry and the current state of the national economy, the WIB felt it fitting to host a summit to discuss what avenues should be sought to keep the local economic growth moving forward in Atlantic and Cape May counties. One way to look at the future is to look at the successes of the past. Let’s celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Atlantic City casinos and the 50th Anniversary of the FAA Technology Center.

Join us at this forum featuring economists, industry leaders and architects of the past era for an interactive discussion on how to shape the South Jersey regional economy over the next five years. Learn about the emerging trends in job creation, health services, housing, education and transportation that will affect your businesses, growth communities and public agencies. Participate in discussions that will generate action from your local governments and learn more about how some resources will be allocated in the region.
