Atlantic Cape Community College is a comprehensive two-year nonprofit
publicly-supported educational institution serving Atlantic and Cape
May counties. ACCC enrolls about 7,000 credit students in more than 40
career and transfer programs. Short-term programs are also offered.
The continuing education division provides a wide range of educational
and training programs to meet the needs of individuals and businesses
and partners with local business and industry to provide skilled

FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2008. A number of 50th Anniversary events have been planned at FAA Headquarters in Washington, DC and at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center, the FAA’s aviation research and development, and test and evaluation, facility. The Technical Center is also the national scientific test base for the FAA.
Technical Center programs include testing and evaluation in air traffic control, communications, navigation, airports, aircraft safety, and security. They also include long-range development of innovative aviation systems and concepts, development of new air traffic control equipment and software, and modification of existing systems and procedures.
The Technical Center not only serves as a cornerstone for aviation advancements, but is also a key focal point for Homeland Security. The Transportation Security Administration Laboratory; the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City; and the 177th Fighter Wing of the NJ Air National Guard all are located at the Technical Center.
Located 10 miles northwest of Atlantic City and covering over 5,000 acres, the Technical Center consists of state-of-the art laboratories, test facilities, support facilities, the Atlantic City International Airport (ACY), and a non-commercial aircraft hangar. |
